Attention map

The attention map shows the most and least eye-catching areas of your webpage. This is the most direct visualization of our analysis. Red areas are very likley to be viewed by a user, while blue areas will probably be ignored by most users.

This view allows you to get an overview of the distribution of attention on your page. If those areas that are most important to you do not appear red, you should rethink your design. Checking the attention map can also help you to better understand the results you get from our other analysis tools. If, for instance, the perception map shows that a certain area will not be viewed, the attention map will immediatley show you whcih other areas it is competing with for user attention, and which design changes might therefore help to solve this problem.
Background knowledge

Our analysis algorithm combines data from eyetracking studies with insights into visual processing done by the brain.

For every area on an image, it can compute the probability that a human observer would make a fixation there.

These probabilities are visualized in different colors, resulting in the attention map.
