The team behind GoodGaze
Professor Peter König
Peter is professor of Neurobiopsychology at the University Osnabrück. Starting out as a physicist and physician he worked as a senior researcher at the Max-Planck Institute of Brain Research, the Neurosciences Institute San Diego and ETH/University Zürich before moving to the Institute of Cognitive Science in Osnabrück. His interests focus on human perception and behavior that is investigated with experimental and theoretical techniques. Important aspects are to ever push the limits of our understanding and to turn scientific discoveries to something useful. And fun.
Johannes
Johannes is twenty-five years old and about to finish his Master's Degree in Cognitive Science. While his academic interests focus on modelling, he is also a full-time computer geek and regards living on the bleeding edge as essential. His project experience as IT freelancer helps him keeping GoodGaze planning and development running smoothly.
Nicolas
Nicolas has obtained a B.Sc. in Cognitive Sciences
from the University of Osnabrück in 2007 and since this time
worked on GoodGaze technology. Currently he is working on his
Masters degree in Artificial Intelligence in Amsterdam (which you
can see in the background of this picture). Besides dreaming of
moving nearer to the city he likes to work with web technologies.
You will find him behind the curtains of goodgaze.com, trying to
keep things working smoothly.
Cornell
Cornell is currently doing his Master in
Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück. He is mainly
interested in everything he doesn't know yet - which is a lot. He
is GoodGaze's best boy as he is involved in doing the marketing,
front-end web design, tool development and by simply being a great
smoker's companion. He is a bit vain, but doesn't appear to be
photogenic in shootings.
Fabian
Fabian directs our marketing activities. Prior to
this he worked as a business development manager for Lijit
Networks, Inc., a Boulder, Colorado based internet startup.
Complementary to his work in marketing - where he's trying to make
the complex simple - he's also into philosophy, trying to make the
simple complex. Fabian received a bachelor's degree in Cognitive
Science and is now getting his master's with a focus on the
philosophy of happiness and emotions.
Marion
Marion loves everything linked to planning,
organizing, statistics, deadlines, money. Focussing on the less
attractive requirements of today, she assures that our high-flying
visions for tomorrow don't lose ground and helps paving GoodGaze's
walk of fame.
Torsten
Torsten is a Cognitive Science student at the University of Osnabrück. His main interests are consciousness, the connection between perception and neural activity, and visual attention. At GoodGaze he is currently working on the development of even better attention models and collecting more data from human subjects to make our predictions more specific to different subject groups.
Niklas
Niklas has obtained a B.Sc. in Cognitive Science
from the University of Osnabrück. Currently he is working on
his Master Degree. He studies cognitive science to find out more
about the inner workings of the brain. And like all cognitive
scientists, he dreams of discovering the holy grail of
consciousness. At GoodGaze he is trying to further improve the
attention model by collecting data of human subjects. Niklas is
absolutely aware that he, like all of us, looks like a total jerk
on the picture.
